The 3D printer has become a joyful part of my practice — a way to prototype ideas, test space, and share concepts with clients in tangible form. Here’s a recent model featuring a James Turrell work and the surrounding galleries, printed piece by piece.
As AI sparks debate about the future of architecture, I find it helpful to remember that technology keeps reshaping how we work: from hand drafting to CAD, from CAD to BIM. I’m looking forward to what comes next — and I definitely don’t miss my old drafting table.
Rural Studio
In addition to our home at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, we keep a rural studio in Woodstock, NY.
Here, we have a place for the kind of hands on-research (digging, welding, sawing etc) that’s hard to pull off in NYC.
